For routes except from/to Americas, each passenger (adult/children) in First Class can bring a bag with maximum weight of 40kg, in Business Class can bring 30kg, and Economy Class can bring 20kg. For routes from/to United States of America, passengers in First and Business are entitled to 32kg, and passengers in Economy are entitled to 23kg. If there are more bags than the permitted allowance or bags exceed the weight or linear restrictions, charge fee may applied by Cathay Dragon. Cathay Dragon offers different ways of check in: online check in, mobile check in, in-town check in, and kiosk check in. Cathay Dragon check-in the deadline is 90 minutes before departure time. Bags must be dropped at least 50 minutes before the flight's departure. At the airport, check-in counters normally close 40 minutes prior to departure. However, this may change according to the individual airport. Passengers are required to present with their boarding pass at the Boarding Gate Service Desk no later than 30 minutes before departure.

Cathay Dragon online check in is available from 48 hours to 90 minutes before departure time of all Cathay Dragon flights or flights codeshare with Cathay Pacific.
