Vietnam Heritage Photo Exhibition 2014

In the framework of Heritage Photo Awards 2014, Vietnam Heritage Photo Exhibition is held across the country, which attracts the attention from the youth. The exhibition creates favorable conditions for people to know more about Vietnam heritages.

After awarding for winners of Vietnam Heritage Photo 2014 contest, organizers will hold Vietnam Heritage Photo Exhibition with 100 best works in cities such as Vung Tau, Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Da Nang, Hue, Ha Long, Hanoi , Dalat, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho... The exhibition will end on Vietnam Lunar New Year 2015.

Vietnam Heritage Photo Awards is an annual contest. It is held yearly with the coordination of Vietnam Heritage Magazine under Vietnam Cultural Association, and main sponsor as Canon. The result of Vietnam Heritage Photo Awards 2014 was released on November 23rd, 2014. Being promulgated since July 2014, the contest received 4402 photos, including 2795 single photos, and 254 galleries with four main themes of natural heritage, tangible cultural heritage (architecture, sculpture, crafts...), intangible cultural heritage (music, songs, dances, festivals, folk games, creed, religion...). The number of authors is 477, two times bigger than the first contest, and 138 authors more than the second one. The Organizing Committee has selected 100 works to display in exhibitions at 20 locations across the country, including 28 most outstanding works awarded.

 

Vietnam Heritage Photo Awards Ceremony

 

On December 1st, 2014, in Da Nang University of Technology, the organizing committee of Vietnam Heritage Photo Awards 2014 held an opening ceremony of photo exhibition in the program. The exhibition features 100 outstanding works selected from Vietnam Heritage Photo Contest in 2014. Generally commenting about the contest, photographers Hoang Giang Hai, member of the jury said, basically, all themes have many photos which are expressed in many different angles. These themes are captured in ad different regions across the country. The most attractive themes are gallery about daily life, traditional craft, etc, which captures about interesting things about people in different place. Mrs. Le Thanh Hai, General Editor of Vietnam Heritage Magazine shared that this year the exhibition is held at the National Universities in Nha Trang, Can Tho, Da Nang and Hanoi. Thereby, the organizers hope the young people have a convenient opportunity to admire wonderful photos of Vietnam heritages.

Previously, many exhibitions took place in provinces of the country. On November 12, Vietnam Heritage Photo Exhibition 2014 was opened in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in HCM with 100 best works pictures selected from Vietnam Heritage Photo Awards 2014. After six exhibitions in various locations such as parks, universities, libraries, education centers, resort ... in 3 regions, 100 outstanding works selected photos from the competition are continued to display in University of Social Sciences and Humanities in HCM. "We hope the photo exhibition will reach the general public, especially the youth. Thereby, people cooperate to preserve the values of art, humanity, and national heritages through photography. This brings a positive meaning in establishing love, awareness of reservation and promoting values of Vietnam heritages. This is also the first program held at National University of Ho Chi Minh in general, and University of Social Sciences and Humanities in particular. The exhibition will continue to go to other universities in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Hanoi... with the desire to create opportunities for young people to directly admire the heritages of Vietnam, "Le Thanh Hai - Head of the contest's organizers said.

 

Vietnam Heritage Photos Exhibition in Hanoi

 

On November 25, the Vietnam Heritage Photo Exhibition 2014 was kicked off in Hanoi, one of the most important destinations in the route through 10 provinces and cities of the exhibition. The exhibition displays 100 best works selected from the photo contest. 100 works are 100 wonderful moments about diverse Vietnam nature, cultural festivals, portraits and daily life of people, architectures, and sculpture, etc. These works are captured from northwest mountainous region, orchards in Southern region, to islands and sea. The exhibition in Hanoi took place in Foreign Trade University from November 25th to 27th. After that, the works will be displayed in Hanoi Museum.
