The IUFoST Global Food Industry Awards 2014 is organized and judged by the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST). Dairy products of Vinamilk were nominated as a represented product of Vietnam joining the competition by Vietnam Association of Food Science and Technology (VAFoST) - IUFoST member. This is an activity in the framework of the 17th IUFoST Congress held in Montreal Canada from August 17 to 21. The prestigious award is organized every two years, bringing together renowned scientists in the field of food. This award is nominated and evaluated in three main criteria: creative product and technological innovation, improved packaging / packing, and communication of scientific knowledge to consumers.
Prof.PhD. Pingfan Rao, Chairman of IUFoST said: "That Vinamilk dairy product is nominated this time entirely convinced the jury in terms of scientific creativity, and really impressed consumers with media campaigns on nutrition knowledge". The country's dairy product gained global food technology, which confirms the stature and credibility of Vinamilk, the pioneer of the dairy in Vietnam is growing and gradually integrates into the world.
With this award, the Vinamilk dairy product surpassed more than 100 products from 70 countries to enter the final and won. It is worthily noted that in all nominations from countries around the world, only Vinamilk is the enterprise of dairy industry wining this award. All of excellent products selected in final are judged by a jury consisting of 10 leading experts on food science and technology representing 10 country members including Brazil, China, Canada, Libia, Singapore, Argentina, Philippines, US, Switzerland, and South Africa.
This confirms the value of science, technology and intellectual levels investing in products to help the community and society acknowledge the indispensable role of milk to the development of children in particular, and consumers in general, especially in developing countries, including Vietnam". Assessing the value of the global food industry award, Prof. Academician Luu Duan, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the VAFoST emphasizes, "I am really touched and proud when Vinamilk won this prestigious award and honored to reward in the ceremony today in Montreal, Canada." The Vietnam enterprise in dairy industry achieved this award, attesting to the rapid and advanced development of dairy in Vietnam. Thereby, indicating Vietnam dairy is gradually integrating into the "playground" of the region and of the world. The award is a powerful demonstration for the fruitful cooperation between Vinamilk, manufacturers, scientists, and reputable domestic and international scientific institutions in food sector, in order to improve the usability of scientific research into practical production, offering products with value added for the community. Since then, Vietnam consumers are more confident in the processing of dairy products in the country, which is not inferior to the advanced ones of other countries in the world.
