At this restaurant, the Former President of the United States Obama had an enjoyable meal during his visit to Vietnam in 2016, so it was named after him. The restaurant’s original name is Huong Lien Kecab Rice Noodles. You can visit it on Le Van Huu street, Hai Ba Trung district.

Visitors to Hanoi usually buy Green Rice to give to their relatives as a gift. Literally, Green Rice is a beauty of Hanoi gastronomy. It is carefully packed in lotus leaves and gets aromatic when roasted. Consequently, it’s tasty and easy to eat. You can go to Me Tri village or Vong village to find the best Green Rice. Combo Noodle Soup is a traditional food of Hanoi people. A bowl of Combo Noodle Soup consists of noodles, chicken, fried eggs and black forest mushrooms. The stock, which is made from chicken bones or shrimps, is transparent, sweet and fragrant.

Other than the aforesaid traditional dishes, there has recently been a dish attracting much attention in Hanoi. It is giant squids processed in Hong Kong style and sold in Hanoi Old Quarter. Its origin lies in Hong Kong and it is commonly served as a street food in China. Most people who once tried it seem to be pleasant, but some reckon that it is more crumbly than Vietnamese squids.
