Other useful information

According to the tradition of Thai people, doorstep of houses, temples, and pagodas is where the gods reside, so tourists should not step on them, and should put their shoes and sandals outside door before entering.

Thai people consider Buddhism the national religion and worship them; it is taboo, when monks are touched or given some things from others, especially women. Additionally, tourists should not pat someone's shoulder and back or touch the head of children, because they are often seen as offense gestures.

Temple (2)

Like other countries in South East Asia, when visiting temples and pagodas, tourists should dress politely (usually long skirt, long sleeves and long pants) and take off shoes before entering these places. In Thailand, women are never allowed to sit or stand near monks.

Tourists should change your currency into Baht, since when shopping in Thailand sellers may not accept dollars.

Many hotels in Thailand are not equipped with personal items for tourists as brushes, toothpaste and slippers. Therefore, tourists should prepare them when necessary.

When sitting, avoid setting food on the table, because Thai people think that the legs are the dirtiest part of the body. It will be seen as a rude action if your foot touches another person's body. Note that when sitting cross-legged, your foot does not point someone, photos of king or Buddha statues.
