With the rich culinary, Hoi An food is one of the most important factors contributes to the success of Hoi An tourism in particular and central region in general. “Banh vac, banh bao” is the famous specialty which consists of two kinds of steamed rice dumplings. The main
ingredient to cook two types of a dish is rice. “banh vac” is mainly stuffed with ground shrimp, mixed with a little pepper, garlic, spring onion and esoteric spices. “Banh bao”, on the other hand, has pork, mushroom and sliced green onions as the main fillings. The dish is served with a dipping sauce made from shrimp broth.
