How the world travel is after Covid 19 pandemic

More and more countries applied travel bans and blockages due to nCoV. It is hard to predict the world travel scenario after the Covid 19 pandemic.

The fast speed of nCoV spread caused terrible consequences. While, experienced industries and experts believe that the world travel market will be stable after the Covid 19 pandemic.

“People haven’t changed their demands of traveling, but they will be more cautious about their plans. And they not only need to travel safely, but also need to see clear changes to make their trips safer,” assumed Adam Blake, Research Manager of Department of Tourism and Hospitality in Bournemouth University, England. However, the economic professor added that he did not when and how the world will overcome the Covid 19 pandemic. Once the crisis of public medical care is improved, service prices will fall sharply to a certain point - which is enough to attract tourists.

Professor Christopher Anderson in Cornell University, New York, U.S predicted that cruise tours will be extremely cheap when the yacht industry is reopened. He believed that the re-designs of some new ships will be a solution to attract new tourists. Reducing buffet and focusing on order meals with different price ranges will be another solution to reassure tourists who are doubting about the safety of cruise ships. Challenge of cruise ships is attracting more new customers to cruises after a series of news about nCoV spread in cruise ships and travel bans. Mr Anderson assumed that this can determine the survival of the business.

Hospitality

Besides, all businesses from cruise ships to hotels need to change their ways of control and sanitation to interact with customers, and re-communication to make customers feel comfortable most. In early April, nearly 80% of hotels in the US were empty, according to STR reports. Mr. Freitag said, room rates must decrease dramatically before rising again. In the past crises, the industry of hospitality must spend a double time to make the room rates recover in comparison to when it was down to the lowest point. It is predicted that tourists might feel safer when staying in hotels. It is because if they can save money, they will be threatened by the conditions and sanitation of rooms booked via platforms such as Airbnb.

Aviation

People will be more comfortable if there are less passengers on planes even the pandemic ends. If airlines really want to turn around, they have to suffer from empty aisle seats - social distance, low airfares and flexible change/cancellation policy in a specific time. For example, Delta Air Lines is offering free snacks to passengers on all domestic flights to reduce contacts. Passengers will receive free food packages when flight attendants take the first turn in the cabin, but not all passengers have meals, as the number of meals is limited. To promote safe travels during the crisis caused by Covid-19, Delta also extended the deadline to revise travel plans affected by nCoV for up to two years. Passengers can now change and re-book their flights for the next 24 months.
