Vietnam Japan ICT Forum held in Hanoi

Some days ago, Ministry of Information and Communication of Vietnam and Japan Ministry of Internal and Communication held Vietnam Japan ICT Forum 2015. Through the cooperation the quality of Vietnam post will be improved significantly.

Japan's Kyodo news agency reported that during working visit in Vietnam, at Vietnam Japan ICT Forum, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan, Kosaburo Nishime signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on enhancing the exchange of information policy on Vietnam post office as well as promoting the postal system deployed in the model of Japan in Vietnam. Participants in the Vietnam-Japan ICT Forum were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung Deputy Minister of Information and Communication, Mr. Nishime Kosaburo, Standing Deputy Minister, and Mr. Yasuo Sakamoto, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Communication of Japan. The forum appealed over 200 representatives of more than 70 leading Japan and Vietnam businesses of ICT and post such as Vietnam Postal Corporation, VNPT, FPT, NEC, and Fujitsu… Japan is currently the biggest investor and the fourth most important commercial partner of Vietnam.

Speaking at the forum, Mr. Kosaburo Nishime, Standing Deputy Minister of Japanese Internal Affairs and Communication affirmed that Vietnam Japan relation is increasingly having good improvement. Japan always considers Vietnam an important strategic partner. Stressing the special role of post office in each country and in the world, Deputy Minister Kosabiro Nishime expressed his happiness with the great result of the cooperation. Highly appreciating the Japanese senior delegation of Internal Affairs and Communication Ministry and leading information and communication businesses choosing Vietnam to visiti and promote cooperation in early days of 2015, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Deputy Minister emphasized four main contents to exchange with Japanese counterparts. Specifically, they are areas of investment in Vietnam, IT applications, content services and digital television, cooperation and development of human resources. Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung hoped that the forum would provide an opportunity for big corporations, small and medium enterprises in Vietnam, research and training institutes, individuals and experts of the two countries to directly meet, exchange, and learn the ability to establish and build partnerships and cooperation in various fields.

Also, in Vietnam – Japan ICT Forum 2015, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Hung and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan Kosaburo Nishime signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on postal sector. On the sidelines of the forum, an exhibition of products and IT services, postal and telecommunication of Japan and Vietnam enterprises were held. Talking to the journalists on the sidelines of the ICT Forum, General Director of Vietnam Post Corporation, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan said the Vietnam Post Office and Japan Post are in Universal Postal Union (UPU). Thus, the cooperation in postal field of the two countries is always considered and improved, especially services of postal parcel and international transfers. On the cooperation basis, in the time to come, two sides will concentrate on implementing methods to increase the quality of service and human resource. This is a great chance for Vietnam to develop in the near future in terms of postal area.
