Vietnam - Mexico cooperation on higher education

Vietnam - Mexico cooperation on higher education has been agreed by both sites of Vietnam and Mexico. Accordingly, there will be a multiple cooperation between two countries to develop a better their education system.

Vietnam and Mexico agreed to promote cooperation in higher education in the future as a result the meeting between Deputy Minister of Vietnam Education and Training - Nguyen Thi Nghia and General Director of International Relations Department under Mexico education and training - Ms. Socorro Rovirosa. From May 14-20, the delegation of Hanoi National University of Social Sciences and Humanities led by Professor, Ph.D., as well as People's Teacher Nguyen Van Khanh paid a working visit in Mexico to establish Vietnam - Mexico cooperation on higher education. The visit is in the accordance with the invitation of Mexico - Vietnam parliamentarian friendship group, along with and some local universities.

It is reported that in Mexico, Vietnamese delegation had a working visit to National Autonomous University of Mexico in Mexico City and Emilio Zapata University of Mexico Labor Party in Monterrey City, the capital of Muevo Leon State, to research for the bilateral cooperation on the fields concerned by both sides. At the meetings, leaders of universities in Mexico expressed their happiness to great cooperations between Vietnam and Mexico, and to opportunities by dint of the working visit of Vietnam in terms of education and training, publishing, scientific seminars, and common researches. Two sides pledge to sign the agreement soon in the scope of Culture, Education and Sport Cooperation Agreement which was signed by Vietnam government and Mexico government previously.

 

Hanoi National University of Social Sciences and Humanities

 

Cordially meeting Hanoi National University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Federation MP Alberto Anaya Gutierrez, as well as General Secretary of the Mexican Labour Party and Chairman of Mexico-Vietnam Parliamentarians Friendship Group  expressed his pleasure to the new cooperation areas opened in the Vietnam - Mexico relation as well as achievements of the delegation's visit. Federal Congressman - Gutierrez suggested the two sides having cooperation plan as soon as possible in 2015 and the following years to reinforce and expand friendship and multiple cooperation between the two countries.

On behalf of the Mexico Labor Party and Parliamentarian Friendship Group, he pledged to sponsor for activities in the new field. Besides official activities, Professor, PhD, People's Teacher Nguyen Van Khanh and his delegation also spent time visiting some historical, cultural and educational areas in Mexico City and visited the Embassy of Vietnam in Mexico. The meeting is in the framework of the visit and participation in an international congress on early childhood education institutions in Monterrey City, capital of Nuevo Leon. At the exchange, two sides informed each other basic features of countries' situation in general, and higher education in particular of each country. They emphasized the desire of bilateral cooperation in various fields, including higher education based on the principle of reciprocity, equality and mutual benefit in order to contribute to strengthening the friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Mexico.

 

National Autonomous University of Mexico

 

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Nghia proposed to Mexico for main content of the bilateral cooperation agreement on higher education in Vietnam and in Mexico. Accordingly, it is necessary to focus on cooperation between universities of the two countries, exchange information and documents on system and orientation of higher education and teaching methods. Also, two sides had an exchange of experiences through visits at all levels, discuss on implementation of the scholarship exchange programs, and promote the signing of agreements at government level about the recognition of equivalent qualifications in higher education and several issues of mutual interest. In response, Ms. Socorro Rovirosa committed proposal of Vietnam and soon replied in accordance with diplomatic path. She also expressed the desire to witness the economic and social achievement of Vietnam through a learning and researching trip. During the time in Mexico, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Nghia and delegation offered flowers to the monument to President Ho Chi Minh in Mexico City Center, and visited the Embassy of Vietnam in Mexico and some historical and cultural relics in the country.
