Nightlife at Hanoi Old Quater

Hanoi Old Quarter is commonly known as Hanoi 36 old streets that presents almost unique things of Hanoi. Visiting here, visitors will have the chance to experience the daily life and explore the exciting nightlife of local people.

When the night embraces the streets, lights come away. And life begins again on streets of the Old Quarter.  For people who have just arrived in Hanoi about 1 year, the Old Quarter is one of the places where they go to here to have a great cup of coffee or just have look at the lifestyle of Hanoian. But its nightlife is also amazing. You will also be surprised by the forms of entertainments available and also the way people live here at night. 

The first stop is one of the most well-known parks in Hanoi and is located in the Old Quarter. It is the home to amateur artists and dancers. To enjoy the nightlight at Hanoi Old Quarter, you cannot ignore the chance to enjoy the fast food and drink here. In fact, young Vietnamese people come to Old Quarter at night to just to get a sip of sugary type of drink. Coffee has been sold around Hanoi for decades. The city is quiet famous for ice coffee with condense milk or even some people like egg coffee.  Those types of coffee are often sold in stationery stalls or shops. The type of coffee selling on the motorbike or bike is actually new service in the city.

Ta Hien Street is the most crowded street in Hanoi. You will be surprised that within Vietnamese sounding street is crowd of foreigners. This is where they go to sip freshly brewed beer. Ta Hien Street has been turned strictly walking street since 2003. The street offers not only drinks but also types of food that visitors love to try. Despite of being so busy, the street and all of its shops, bars and pubs will have to close by midnight. Coming here, visitors should drop by a popular bar among expat in Vietnam. The bar is favored for its traditional style. The Vietnamese decorations and public atmosphere make the place a popular gathering of foreign expats in the world.  

Besides the noisy atmosphere, you can feel the silent space here. Kim Ngan shrine on Hang Bac Street is the place where visitors can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and listening to Ca Tru. Ca Tru is a type of unique traditional singing in northern Vietnam. It has been regarded as the art with one of the most complicated rhythms in world music. Ca tru is a kind of psychic art which is very holy and pure. The singers should express their love through the song so that the performances can succeed. 

In addition, you cannot miss O Quan Chuong, one of the old gates of Hanoi. At night, the stone walls seem to be more clearly. The age of the wall is reflected underneath the bright of street lamps. Somehow, shadows and light have made a solid wall seem more alive in a sleepy old quarter.
