We are starting off with the most outstanding Vietnam culture events that stirred up the last week.
News 1: The Alliance of arts and literature in Da Nang city launched a campaign entitled “Da Nang artists look to the country’s seas and islands” to call for more art compositions to support the country’s effort to protect its sovereignty. The campaign which has drawn the attention of local artists was also a chance for them to strongly condemn China’s act in the East Sea. The Alliance of art and literature in Da Nang has encouraged the local artists in working to produce art pieces about the country in any medium. Through their works, people could understand more about the beauty and history of the country’s island and the whole country’s determination in defending its integrity and sovereignty.
News 2: Cu Da village lying by the side of Nhue river of Thanh Oai district in Hanoi is known for retaining typical identity of an old Viet village. Although, the urbanization is a factor looming large against those trying to protect all ancient architecture and tradition, the locals have managed to preserve hundreds of Vietnamese houses.
News 3: The fifth Vietnamese traditional martial art festival was kicked off in August in Binh Dinh province. According to Binh Dinh Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, 55 international teams and 30 domestic participants participated in this event. In addition to martial art contests, the event will also featured martial art beauty contest, carnival and very activations and cultural promotion events.
News 4: Choral music can be fine, versatile and fascinating. That’s why the Grammy award-winning Pacific Boychoir Academy gave the audiences in Hanoi during their Asian tour. The Vietnamese folk song “Bac Kim Thang” was performed by the Pacific Boychoir Academy and Vietnam Sol Art choir. From the way to perform, it is hard to tell that this was only the second time two choirs had songs together on stage.
News 5: That’s the most vibrant Vietnam culture news of the last week. Now, with youthful enthusiasm and special love for their city, the Humans of Hanoi team aim to break down the invisible wall between people and bring them closer together in one big Hanoi family through photography archives. Only 6 months after the group was born, they have successfully launched an online photography which has won the heart of 40 thousands Hanoian.
News 6: Born in France, Nguyen Nhat Ly spent most of his childhood in Vietnam, before returning to his place of birth to attend the music school. Nhat Ly is among very few artists who introduce the Vietnamese traditional culture, music and performing art to the world by blending the traditional values and modern performances. He is the founder of the world-renowned “Lang Toi” or My Village circus show among many others.
News 7: Yoga practitioners are renowned for their elongated and flexible formation, but imagine if they can do all of that in mid air. An Indian master and his group of Yoga in Ho Chi Minh City have been able to do just that. Vietnamese culture news this week will take you to discovery art of flying Yoga.
