Day 2 - Chau Doc – Sa Dec
High Water
Due to high water in the Mekong Delta between July and December, you will discover the border town of Tan Chau. Then, you continue traveling to Tan Chau Pier, disembark here and sightsee around the vivid local market with lots of unique regional products, and then come back to the vessel.
Low Water
Reaching Chau Doc, the fish sanctuary of Vietnam, you will begin your day by having breakfast at the Viceroy Dining Hall or in your private balcony. Then, take a short excursion in Chau Doc which has sizeable Chinese, Kinh and Khmer communities, and borders Cambodia. You will go strolling a colorful local market near an ancient temple. Then, you will take a trip to the quay where you will be feted to a boat excursion to the floating villages and rustic catfish farms and learn exciting things about the breeding of Basa fish in the Mekong Delta. Then, it is back to the ship for a lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit a local house to taste tea with honey before coming back to the ship to sail to Sa Dec in the late afternoon.
Day 3 - Sa Dec – Cai Be – My Tho
In the morning, you travel to Binh Thanh Island by sampan. Here, you will have a chance to explore the life of villager with the process of growing and processing water hyacinths into natural fiber floor mats and rattan baskets. After lunch on board, the Ship arrives in Cai Be. You will take part in a visit to Cai Be’s boisterous and colorful floating market where traders gather in a cacophonous congregation. During time, you can admire the breathtaking landscapes along the river and quaff the rustic life on the Mekong Delta. You also can observe how rice paste, rice cookies and coconut candies are made, along with the Longan fruit drying process. After touring the canals, you will pop in an ancient house surrounded by fruit orchards before coming back to the ship for dinner. Then, the ship cruises towards My Tho. A wonderful farewell party awaits us on the terrace deck. Overnight at My Tho
Day 4 – My Tho – Saigon
You will disembark at around 8.30h and join the transfer to the madding crowd of Saigon. Drop off will be at the meeting point in Saigon. Including breakfast
