Activities
With regard to activities, you can take part in many exciting programs and thrilling excursions both inlands and on water. For detailed information, please see itineraries.
You will be picked up at a hotel in Saigon and transferred to the pier. After check-in on board, you will be welcomed with fresh rolled cotton towels. Your 1-day excursion will start from Vinh Long and depart from the pier in front of Cuu Long hotel at 10.00 am. Crossing Co Chien River, which is considered as one of the largest arm of Mekong River, then Cai Be Princess Sampan will also pass along An Binh and Binh Hoa Phuc islands, which are well-known for its orchard plantations. Later, the sampan will have a short stop at Tam Ho bonsais garden.
Your cruise will continue on a narrow canal where you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes and luxuriant vegetation. Afterwards, Cai Be Princess Sampan will cruise through colorful floating markets. In these markets, you can see many local boats selling their home-made products such as tropical fruits and diverse vegetables. The sampan will pass through ancient Cai Be church towards Phu An hamlet. A short stop en route at local factories will allow you to witness how local goods like rice paste and coco candies are made.
A gourmet lunch awaits you at a beautiful and wonderful Indochinese villa named Le Longanier, which is situated in a lush tropical garden by the river and surrounded by fruit orchards. Later, the sampan will proceed to Dong Hoa Hiep Island, which is situated between Vinh Long and Cai Be. During 40-minute cruise, you can enjoy the beauty of Mekong River’s sceneries and explore more about the typical rural life of Vietnamese people living in the countryside. At an ancient mandarin house dating from 19th century, you will be served a cup of tea.
After visiting the ancient house, you will return onboard and be ready to visit the biggest rice stock market. Other stops will allow you to visit traditional bricks, tiles factory, and how palm leaves used for houses. Continuing the cruise, Cai Be Sampan will sail further to Phu An hamlet where you can visit other local factories produce rice paste, rice cookies, coco candies, and drying fruits. A gourmet lunch awaits you at an Indochinese villa named Le Longanier.
In the afternoon, after a short walk along a beautiful canal, your cruise will end at 3.30 pm at Ba Bon Bridge. Here, your own private vehicle is waiting to transfer you back to Saigon.

The cruise will end at Phu Nhuan Bridge. Be back to Saigon.

The voyage will continue as the cruise cross Co Chien River and My Thuan Bridge. You will have a visit at Dinh Tan Hoa ancient house which was built by French some over hundred years ago. Then, the sampan will cruise upstream on Tien Giang River. You will have chance to visit one of some traditional bricks and tiles factories located along the river. The cruise will arrive in Sa Dec around 1.00 pm. After cruising along narrow canals and see many interesting activities on riverbanks, you will disembark at a local market place. Day 1: Saigon – Cai Be – Phu An – Dong Hoa Hiep – An Binh

You will be picked up at your hotel in Saigon to travel to the pier. After embarking, you will be welcomed with fresh cotton towels. Cai Be Princess Sampan will bring you to visit Cai Be floating market – one of the most beautiful and busiest markets of Mekong Delta. In the market, you can explore daily life and culture of locals and see many local sampans laden tropical fruits and vegetables for sold. Then, the sampan will precede to Phu An hamlet. En route, there is a short stop for you to visit local factories which produce coconut candies, rice paste, and other regional specialties. A delicious lunch will be prepared at Le Longanier, an Indochinese villa.
After lunch, Cai Be Princess will cruise deeper to Dong Hoa Hiep and An Binh Island. These peaceful islands are great places to explore the rural life, culture, and daily activities, of the delta residents such as making roofs by palm tree leaves, bricks and tiles artisanal factory, net fishing, an ancient Mandarin house dating from late 19th century. As sailing along Dong Phu canal, you can visit a fruit orchard and bonsais plantation near Binh Hoa Phuc islet.
In the late afternoon, disembark the sampan, you will check in a traditional house built on pillars by the river. Dinner will be served in the house, then you can enjoy your night freely.
Day 2: An Binh – Vinh Long – Sa Dec – Saigon
(Including breakfast and lunch)
After breakfast, come back to Cai Be Sampan and continue your excursions on Mekong River. The sampan will cross Co Chien River and My Thuan Bridge and stop at Dinh Tan Hoa, an ancient house which was build hundreds years ago. Then, Cai Be Sampan will proceed upstream on Tieng Giang River. Dark smokes in the sky will lead us to visit one of the biggest bricks and tiles factories. The trip will continue in Sa Dec where you can see a famous product of Mekong Delta used for furniture and baskets – water jacinth.
Upon arrival in Sa Dec, lunch will be served on boat while as the sampan continues cruising or stop for a visit at local ancient house in Sa Dec. you will get off the sampan at a local market. Take a stroll around charming and peaceful town of Sa Dec, you can see old but beautiful houses dating from the last century, Chinese temples, etc. Your cruise will end at around 4.pm. Transfer back to Saigon.

After lunch, Cai Be Sampan will cruise deeper into smaller rivers and canals. Set foot on riverbanks, you can visit fruit markets and plantations such as coconuts, bananas, water melon, and some large rice fields. Enjoy the simple beauty of local houses, which are made from wood and palm tree leaves, you can contact with locals as well. Then, the sampan will cruise through small bridges made by woods and bamboos, cross through countless suspended fishing nets, and proceed to Dong Hoa Hiep Island. Dinner will be served at an ancient mandarin house. Free time to explore the old house and surroundings.
Day 2: Dong Hoa Hiep – An Binh – Vinh Long

After breakfast, you will return to Cai Be Princess sampan to continue your voyage from Dong Hoa Hiep to An Binh and Vinh Long. Here, you can see daily activities of the typical rural life in the South of Vietnam such as roof making with palm tree leaves, bricks and tiles artisanal factories, and net fishing. Lunch awaits you at an orchard plantation near Binh Hoa Phuc Islet.
After lunch, let’s enjoy the beautiful landscapes on riverbanks while the sampan cruises along Dong Phu canal and An Binh islet. The sampan will take you to stop at a local house for overnight. Dinner and overnight at the house.
Day 3: An Binh – Vinh Long – Sa Dec

After breakfast, come back to Cai Be Princess Sampan for your last day cruise on Mekong River. The sampan will pass through Co Chien River and My Thuan Bridge, then stop at a beautiful orchard plantation. The sampan will cruise upstream on beautiful canals. A short stop will allow you to visit one of the largest bricks and tiles factory. On the arrival in Sa Dec, you will disembark at a local market. Lunch awaits you at an ancient house.
After lunch, you can visit Sa Dec town, walk along its narrow streets and enjoy the beauty of ancient houses dating from the last century and some old Chinese temples. Your trip will finish at around 4.00 pm. You will be transferred back to Saigon.
