Vietnam is a favored destination of German tourists

Famtrip, a German delegation consisting of 12 representatives of leading tourism companies in Germany with Mr. Peter Melchior as the delegation leader has visited Vietnam to research for tourism from May 13th to 18th 2014.

This is an opportunity for German travel agencies to experience unique features in Vietnamese culture and cuisine, simultaneously, learn about the tourism potential in Vietnam to establish and expand tours to Vietnam for German tourists. During six days in Vietnam, the delegation has visited famous Vietnam destinations which attract a huge number of international tourists annually from Can Tho City, the center of Southwestern culture to historical and cultural monuments such as Cu Chi Tunnels, Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh and the coastal city Phan Thiet.

In possession of unique features varying in accordance to regions and appealingly diverse cuisine, Vietnam has long become one of the favored destinations of tourists from Germany in particular and from Western countries in general. In addition, Vietnam tourism possessed spotless white sand such as Hoi An, Nha Trang, Mui Ne that seem extremely attractive to German tourists who are particularly fond of sunbathing and water sports. A survey conducted in Germany and some of countries in European Union has revealed that tourists are interested in exploring Asian and Vietnamese culture. There are many destinations in Vietnam can meet that requirement. Western tourists may explore Vietnamese traditional culture in Hanoi, learn about Buddhism in Ninh Binh, and experience lives of ethnic minorities in Sapa Lao Cai.

Experts in tourist field have stated that Germany is one of the largest tourist markets in the world because German people have a tradition of travel, high affordability and are comfortable with long-time tours. Therefore, tourism companies in Vietnam are suggested to seize opportunities to promote tourism potential and strength to attract more Western tourists. To achieve this goal, they are required to improve service quality, enhance training German for human resource, especially for tour guides. It is officially announced that in May 17th 2014, Famtrip delegation organized a meeting with leaders of large travel agencies in Vietnam on boosting promotion to attract tourists in 2014 and following years. Also in the meeting, leaders of Vietnamese companies and Famtrip delegates have agreed to cooperate in many tourism fields, particularly in organizing tours for German and German-speaking community to Vietnam in the near future.

It is reported that in the first four months of 2014, Vietnam has welcomed 59,635 tourists from Germany, increasing 114.49 percent compared with the same period in 2013. The visit of Famtrip delegation to Vietnam this time is expected to open new opportunity for collaboration for Vietnam travel agencies and is believed to attract more German tourists to Vietnam in next years.
