Japan Outbound Travel Club – Southern Region is an organization under Vietnam Society of Travel Agents. Members of the club are international tourism companies organizing tours for Vietnamese to visit Japan. The club is founded to promote market expansion and growth in both quantity and quality of Vietnamese tourists visiting Japan. It is expected that with the advent of the club, the number of Japanese visiting Vietnam will increase up to 1 million per year and the number of Vietnamese visiting Japan will be 200,000 per year in 2017. Besides, the club is expected to become a bridge between travel service providers and government administration agencies, ensuring the legitimate interests of tourists.

The club operates under the regulations issued by Vietnam Society of Travel Agents in order to create a healthy business environment between tourism companies, to support them to provide best tours and services for tourists, as well as to protect the legitimate rights and interests of club members.

Speaking at the launch, Chairman of Vietnam Society of Travel Agents, Mr. Vu The Binh said that the good relationship between Vietnam and Japan has contributed to make Japan the leading market of Vietnam tourism. Vietnam has become a preferred destination of Japanese tourists in recent years. The number of Japanese visiting Vietnam increased rapidly in last years. Especially, in 2013, the number has reached a record of over 600,000 arrivals. Simultaneously, Japan is an attractive destination for Vietnamese tourists. In 2013, there were 85,000 Vietnamese tourists visiting Japan, increasing 55% compared to that of 2012. This number is anticipated to increase more significantly in the near future. Specifically, in the first 6 months of 2014, the number has increased up to 50%. Tourism has become a bright spot in the economic relation between the two countries.

The founding of Japan Outbound Travel Club is just one of many activities expressing the good diplomatic relation between Vietnam and Japan. A year earlier, also in August, a photo exhibition praising Vietnam – Japan relationship was held in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province. The exhibition featuring 150 photos of the beauty of landscapes and peoples of the two countries attracted the attention of a large number of tourists. In first 7 months of 2014, there have been plenty of activities promoting tourism of two countries such as Vietnamese Week in Japan, Japanese Week in Vietnam, program promoting Hoi An Tourism in Japan, and so on.

Japan Outbound Travel Club – Southern Region is the third club in the series of Japan Outbound Travel Club founded by VISTA. Earlier, the clubs in the North and the Central have become into operation in December 2013 and June 2014 respectively.
