According to Vietnam Airlines, the first Airbus A350 XWB finished its test flight in Toulouse, France. The flight is tested in 4 hours by Airbus to check all systems. After that, the A350 will enter its completion, including interior assembly as well as conduct more tests before handing over to Vietnam Airlines at the end of this month. Vietnam Airlines will become the first carrier in Asia, and the second one in the world using A350 XWB. According to the plan, Vietnam Airlines fleet will welcome 14 A350 XWB aircrafts, including 10 from Airbus and 4 outsourced ones, to exploit long-haul and luxury flights. First aircrafts will be used for Hanoi - Paris flights. A350 XWB - a long-range aircraft with an average size is the newest member of Airbus wide-body aircrafts. This is a modern, saving-energy, and economical airplane.
Coming into being before Vietnam Airlines A350 XWB of Airbus, at the end of May, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner of Vietnam Airlines finished its test flight in the US to hand over to VNA in the time coming. In 2015, Vietnam Airlines will be the first airline in Asia Pacific exploiting two latest airplanes in the world - Airbus A350 XWB and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The new Boeing 787-9 will be exploited in flights from Vietnam to London, and vice versa. The first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner of Vietnam Airlines left the paint shop in Washington to prepare for test flight and hand over the VNA in June. Vietnam Airlines said that the outer of the airplane had completed. The interior assembly will finish before the test flight.
As described by Vietnam Airlines, on the basis of inheriting color of its existing brand as distinctive blue and golden lotus, new aircraft's exterior is design with a stylized yellow curve, enlarged size of lotus, and light creamy at the aircraft's abdomen. This is a part of the overall program on innovating brand identity system, expected to be officially deployed when Vietnam Airlines receives new aircraft. The new Vietnam Airlines Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is equipped with comfortable seats and convenient facilities and services, which helps passengers less tired in long-haul flights. In addition, the manufacturer will test Wi-Fi coverage on this aircraft.
Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is the latest version of Boeing 787, which can save energy of Boeing. Boeing 787-9 can fly longer and carry more passengers and cargo than previous versions. At the same time, new manufacturing technology is applied for the new aircraft, which brings high effectiveness to the operators with 20% of saving energy, and 20% of emission reduction in comparison to other equivalent aircrafts. According to the announcement at the annual general meeting in March, this will be the first Boeing 787 handed over this year. Also, there are three Airbus A350 delivered.
