Vietnam Airlines welcomes the first Airbus A350 XWB

Vietnam Airlines will put the first Airbus A350 XWB into operation at the end of this week. Initially, the aircraft will serve Vietnam Airlines domestic flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and then direct international flights from Hanoi to Paris.

According to the information from Vietnam Airlines Corporation, the airline received the first Airbus A350 XWB in Toulouse (France) on 30 June. And, Vietnam Airlines becomes the second air carrier in the world using the most modern aircraft. The first Vietnam Airlines A350 XWB will be initially exploited in Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City flights from this weekend. Then, long-haul flights from Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City to Paris, or Hanoi - Seoul flights in October 2015 will be exploited.

The new A350 XWB will join the Vietnam Airlines fleet which includes 59 Airbus aircrafts, 49 of which are A321, and 10 ones are A330. Vietnam Airlines fleet will have 14 A350 XWB, including 10 aircrafts bought from Airbus and 4 outsourced ones by 2019. The Airbus A350 XWB Vietnam Airlines is designed with three rows of seat with 29 Business Class seats which can flattened to become a bed; 45 Deluxe Economy seats; and 231 Economy seats. Apart from larger private space of all classes, the aircraft also has a modern system of entertainment and connection to serve passengers.

Speaking at the delivery ceremony, Mr. Trinh Ngoc Thanh, Deputy Director of Vietnam Airlines said that, the receiving of the first Airbus A350 XWB marked the upgrade of Vietnam Airlines fleet. The Vietnam Airlines A350-900 is the combination of the most modern technology, and spacious passenger cabin. All provides passengers with a comfortable flights and a wonderful experience. Vietnam Airlines is proud of becoming the second airline in the world receiving the modern aircraft. This is the starting point helping the airline conduct its commitment with customers. Mr. Fabrice Brégier, Chairman and CEO of Airbus believed that the aircraft would help Vietnam Airlines to strengthen its position as one of leading airlines in Asia, bringing the most wonderful experience to passengers. According to the plan, the first Vietnam Airlines Airbus A350 XWB arrived T2 International Terminal at Noi Bai International Airport.

Vietnam Airlines A350-XWB

Airbus A350 XWB is the most modern aircraft in the combination of wide-body aircraft leading the Airbus market, brings new standards of flight experience for passengers and helps airlines effectively exploitation and cost savings. The Aircraft leasing firm - Aercap is the biggest customer of Airbus with orders of 945 Airbus aircrafts, including 20 A350 XWB. A350 XWB has a modern aerodynamic design, wings and fuselage made of carbon fiber and powered by the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB. The most advanced technology helps A350 XWB become the most effective airplane, 25% of fuel and 25% of emission reductions, and low-cost maintenance. Up until now, Airbus received 781 orders of A350 XWB from 40 customers in the world, making A350 XWB become one of the most successful wide-body aircrafts. The A350 XWB was delivered to Vietnam Airlines is the 5th one of the air manufacturer, after the first ones being exploited at the begining of this year.
