In addition to Chicken Rice, Hoanh Thanh, Quang Noodles, Cao Lau, and sauteed mussels served with griddle cake, some other must-to-try Hoi An cuisine are Hoi An White Rose, Banh Mi, Beo Cake, sweet soups, and steamed rice rolls with charcoal broiled pork.

Banh Bao Banh Vac is a signature dish of Hoi An. Due to having a small shape with white color, a dish of Banh Bao Banh Vac looks like a white rose, therefore, it is also called as Hoi An White Rose by foreign travelers. Travelling Hoi An, tourists can find this dish in almost Hoi An restaurants because this is a popular and favorite cuisine of many visitors. Banh Bao and Banh Vac are two different types, nonetheless, they are made from rice – the main ingredient. Banh Bao and Banh Vac are often decorated and served in the same plate. Generally, Banh Bao is often put in the middle of a plate and it is surrounded by Banh Vac. Fried onions will be sprinkled on the top of the dish to make it become more eye-catching. Beo Cake is a popular cake in the Central and the Southern region of Vietnam. Beo Cake is made from three main ingredients including rice flour, shrimp and fish sauce. Unlike Banh Bao Banh Vac, the fish sauce of Beo Cake is directly sprinkled on the top of the dish. Other ingredients of Beo Cake are grease and onion and roasted peanuts. Generally, travelers can find Beo Cake in many restaurants in Hoi An, however, this dish is easier to find in suburban areas such as Cam Nhau or Cam Nam rather than in the center. Depending on the taste tourists can add chili sauce or fish sauce. Especially, to enjoy Beo Cake, people often use a knife made from bamboo instead of using chopsticks or spoons.

Sweet soup will be served with different types of ingredient such as dried banana, desiccated coconut, jujube, and so on.
