It is considered as a new breakthrough of Quang Binh Province to overcome the seasonal issue in tourism industry. Thanks to those new plans, Quang Binh tourism is expected to exploit international market and attract more domestic tourists in the near future. One of cave attractions which are focused to develop initially is Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, a World Heritage recognized by UNESCO. It is the most well-known attraction in Quang Binh and even called “the kingdom of the cave, the heart of Quang Binh tourism”. In September 2014, Quang Binh’s People’s Committee decided to invest nearly VND 7 billion, equal to $ 3.5 million, to construct and bring zip-line tourism into operation. It is a new of tourism that participants swing to explore caves, swim in Chay River and observe primates at Dark Cave.
Along with Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, Vung Chua – Nest Island where General Vo Nguyen Giap, a Vietnamese hero, rested in peace also attracts ten thousands of tourists from throughout the country. With creative steps and flexible methods, since early 2014 to now, Quang Binh has welcomed 2.5 millions of tourists, increasing over 140% compared to that of the same period last year. It is expected that Quang Binh Province will become an attractive destinations for tourists all over the country as well as international friends.
Expectedly, in October, Quang Binh will continue exploit eco-tourism in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park. Accordingly, tourists will have an opportunity to visit Wind Waterfall, Yellow Bird Lake, Exhibition rooms of specimens of primeval forest with a large number of rare species of trees, and so on. It is considered as an amazing attraction for ten thousands of tourists when visiting Phong Nha – Ke Bang in this winter.
In addition to Phong Nha – Ke Bang, Son Doong Cave, the largest cave in the world, is becoming another fascinating attraction in Quang Binh. In September 2014, People’s Committee of Quang Binh held a press conference announcing officially that tour “Conquering Son Doong – the world’s largest cave” would be opened in 2015. In possession of tropical forest, super karst window, and magically surreal atmosphere, Son Doong Cave is listed in the top potential destination in the next 20 years. Since opening Son Doong exploring tours, Quang Binh has ranked 8th in list of 52 worth-trying destinations in the world of The New York Times. Quang Binh Province has decided to develop tourism in comply with regulations of natural heritage conservation to create a difference from other destinations, simultaneously, to become a world-class destination.
