Bao Dai Palace I Dalat is a unique architectural work expressing clearly the influences of European neoclassical architectural trend. To remain a beautiful and valuable sightseeing spot, the Palace I Dalat will be invest to become a tourist resort.

Palace I Dalat is one of three beautiful Bao Dai Palaces in Lam Dong. People's Committee of Lam Dong Province has issued the investment certificate for the project of King Palace - The project of improving and upgrading Palace 1 (on Tran Quang Dieu Street, Ward 10, Dalat City) of Hoan Cau Da Lat JSC under Hoan Cau Corporation. With the investment of 700 billion dong and the operation time of 50 years, the project will cultivate and rehabilitate the Bao Dai Palace I and construct a new complex of hotel, villas, cultural convention center to meet the sightseeing, pleasure, and accommodation of tourists when coming to Dalat City.

The project on one of the most famous attractions in Dalat – Bao Dai Palace I has a total area of 182,000 square meters. Most of which there are renovated works of the Palace I campus, with the Palace 1 building as a central point for restoration, upgrading; and some villas, guest houses, semicircular lake and gardens. Besides, there are new works in the area of landscape forest, including 150 - 200 hotel rooms, restaurants and conference center of from 500 - 800 seats, and 27 all types of villa. Previously, on November 2014, Palace 1 was approved to be invested by Hoan Cau Dalat JSC for the first phrase (embellishment and restoration of the main building, villas, buildings, and supporting landscapes). The investors spent 100 billion dong for the repair, restoration the palace in the period from 2014 to 2015 and initially open for visitors during the Lunar New Year 2015. The project on making Bao Dai Palace I become a tourist resort will contribute significantly to the development of tourism in Dalat and serve tourists with the best quality.

Palace I in Dalat is a very large v architectural ystem on Tran Quang Dieu Street, Ward 10, Dalat City approximately 4km from the city center to the southeast, on a hill with beautiful and dreamy scenery, at the altitude of 1550 meters surrounded by pine forests. The total area is about 60ha. Situated on a hill with romantic pine trees surrounding, about 4km from Dalat City center to the southeast, Palace I is a unique structure with ancient and majestic but elegant and romantic look. It was constructed under the order of a wealthy French official before 1940. At the time, the palace was used for vacationing. The total area here is about 60ha. When the Bao Dai Emperor came back to his thrown, he bought the palace in 1949 and had it repaired. Palace I is an outstanding architectural work with ancient beauty.

In the period of Ngo Dinh Diem President, Palace I was repaired with a new tunnel. On two sides, there are offices of assistants and officers... After Ngo Dinh Diem's death, the palace was used as a vacation spot of the next heads of state of the Saigon regime until 1975. From August 1949, Emperor Bao Dai acquired and had the entire palace remodeled for use as a general headquarter and working place for officials. Since 1956, the Dinh Diem's government used Palace I for the presidential palace, followed by a resting place for heads of state of Saigon government. After 1975, the Palace I was used as a guest house and then assigned to enterprises for tourism operation but inefficient. A longer period of recent 10 years, the Palace I is put into a fallow, degraded seriously situation, wasting about an intriguing sight, a beautiful old architecture of Dalat.
