Attending the ceremony receiving the certification of Vietnam Prime Minister were Mr. Tran Duc Luong, the former President, Mr. Pham Binh Minh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, along with leaders of central and local departments, agencies and huge number of local people and tourists. Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Pham Binh Minh has stated his appreciation toward efforts of local authorities and people in conserving and developing traditional cultural values. Minh also suggested that Quanh Ninh Province and Dong Trieu District should coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to implement efficiently the overall plan conserving the relic; simultaneously, strengthening connection among relics of Tran Dynasty in Dong Trieu District, Con Son – Kiep Bac in Hai Duong Province, Yen Tu Temple, Bach Dang River in Quang Ninh Province in order to build a tourism brand in Red River Delta and make it a top choice of international tourists when visiting Vietnam. It is expected that the historical site will become an attractive spiritual and cultural tourism destination on the world tourism map and one of the most popular attractions in Quang Ninh besides Halong Bay. Receiving great advantages from Quang Ninh tourism, it is completely possible in the near future.
Tran Dynasty Historical Relics has an area of 2,206 hectares with 14 relics located in the south of Dong Trieu Mountain including temples of An Sinh, Ngoc Thanh, Ngoa Van, Tuyet, Quynh Lam, and tombs of Tu Phuc, Thai, Ngai Son, Phu Son, Nguyen Lang and so on. The relic spread across 4 communes of An Sinh, Binh Khe, Thuy An and Trang An. This is considered as a sacred land that is imbued with unique historical and cultural feature. It was the original homeland which gathered plenty of tombs, temples and shrines of noblemen of Tran Dynasty and the center of culture and religion of the former Vietnam. In addition, in Vietnamese belief, Dong Treiu was where Emperor Tran Nhan Tong, the founder of Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen School, cultivated and turned into a Buddhist. Therefore, the conservation of the relics has a great value to the development of Vietnamese Buddhism.
The ceremony receiving the certification of special national heritage was held on occasion of An Sinh temple Festival that took place in 3 days from September 13th to 15th with a large number of fascinating unique traditional cultural activities. Also at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Toan, Deputy Minister of Construction has presented the certification recognizing Dong Trieu as a fourth-class city under Quang Ninh Province.
