From February 4th to 10th (ie, 16th to 22nd of the 12th lunar month), at the Apparel Horse Sports Palace (at 55 Doc Ngu, Lieu Giai Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi), Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held Hanoi Spring Festival to welcome Lunar New Year 2015. The highlights, distinctions in Vietnam tradition and the uniqueness of spring through regions of the country will be reproduced in the Spring Colors Festival taking place from February 07 to 11, 2015 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism.
The highlights of the Spring Festival in Hanoi will be introduction booths, promotions of unique festivals in Hanoi such as Giong Festival, Perfume Pagoda Festival, and Co Loa Festival... Besides, there are about 300 booths organized with large scale to introduce culture and traditional villages, food, and Hanoi travel... In addition to promotions of cultural identities of Hanoi culture, Hanoi Spring Festival will have many outstanding cultural activities, art, and attractive folk games such as performances of circus, street magics, and playing chess... The Hanoi Spring Festival is one of activities to welcome National Tourism Year 2015, contributes to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of Thang Long - Hanoi with a thousand years of civilization.
Recently, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued the overall plan to organize activities to celebrate the establishment of Party, to welcome New Year at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism. Accordingly, the event has four main activities, including Tet wishing meeting, cultural and art exchange between ethnic communities and representatives of Vietnamese people in overseas at the village introducing and recreating the traditional Vietnam Lunar New Year with typical customs, and repertoires of folk-dancing, ethnic games; cuisine on New Year's days of ethnic communities mobilized in spaces of ethnic houses, villages, and Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism; introduction of traditional handicraft villages, local products; and program on wrapping Banh Chung.
The festival witnesses the participation of more than 140 representatives as heads of typical villages, intellectuals, artists of ethnic groups as Hmong, Thai, Dao, Tay, Nung, Muong and Kinh, along with 100 representatives of Vietnamese people in overseas, and about 3000 students from schools in Hanoi... The Spring Festival expresses a deep concern of all levels and branches to unique Vietnamese traditional customs on the occasion of Vietnamese Tet holiday. This is an opportunity to meet, exchange solidarity and to honor cultural traditions of Vietnam people, contributing to the development and consolidation of national unity, and educating the next generation of Vietnamese people to preserve tradition of Tet holiday.
As one of the biggest Hanoi festivals, the Spring Festival is also organized to diversify activities at Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism to attract local and international tourists, and to become an appealing and friendly destination.
