Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has recently issued Decision No. 3498 / QD-BVHTTDL about the organization of the “ASEAN Great Unity Days - One vision, one identity, one community” in Culture-Tourism Village of Vietnamese ethnic groups (Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi) from November 21st to 23rd. Accordingly, official programs will take place in the event including opening ceremony (November 21st), closing ceremony (November 23rd), introduction activities to promote images of ASEAN people and countries, introduction activities about cultural heritages, traditional sports, and traditional culture of ASEAN countries. Among these programs, the opening ceremony is considered as a highlight of the event. The opening ceremony will consist of 2 main parts involving rituals and art performance.
With a theme "Unity - Co-operation - Development", ASEAN Unity Days - One vision, one identity, one community is an event to promote ASEAN culture. It is expected that the event will enhance the understanding, co-operation, and connectivity among ASEAN nations; contribute to create an ASEAN Community of solidarity, dynamism, peace and prosperity; and introduce ASEAN image, culture and people to international friends. This is also a wonderful occasion for Vietnam to raise its role in enhancing ASEAN co-operation and introduce the rich and diverse culture of the nation’s 54 ethnic minority groups.
Within the framework of the event, Vietnam will hold a series of activities to promote traditional culture of Vietnam ethnic groups involving performance of folk songs, folk-dancing, traditional costume, traditional cuisine, traditional crafts; introduction of typical festivals and folk games; and organize cultural exchange programs between Vietnam and ASEAN. Especially, Vietnam will hold a gala and art performance for ASEAN nations to introduce its intangible cultural values involving Ca Tru (ceremonial singing), Hue royal court music, and Quan Ho (traditional love duet singing).
Also in the ASEAN Unity Days in Hanoi, introduction activities to promote images of ASEAN culture and people also take place with meaningful programs such as introducing special tourism products, potentials, strengths, and tourism destinations of ASEAN, introducing special features in culinary culture, providing information of brand promotion, and introducing exhibition space of ASEAN traditional culture. The event will also focus on introducing ASEAN cultural heritages including tangible and intangible cultural heritages, traditional costumes, traditional crafts, cultural space, documents, and books and so on.
