Hoa Binh has new Muong Cultural Heritage Museum

Muong Cultural Heritage Museum has been opened to public in Hoa Binh City to welcome tourists from everywhere to visit and explore more about Muong ethnic culture in particular and Vietnam traditional culture in general.

Recently, in Hoa Binh, Muong Cultural Heritage Museum was officially inaugurated. This is the second on-public museum in Hoa Binh Province, and one of private museums in Vietnam (24th). Muong Cultural Heritage Museum has functions of researching, collecting, reserving, and displaying about heritages of Muong culture. Simultaneously, there are cultural and culinary services to preserve, exploit and promote the traditional and present-day values of Muong cultural heritage. The campus of Muong Cultural Heritage Museum has an area of 4,000 square meters, including 6 main houses with different functions, meeting completely activities in the museum.

 

Exhibition of Gong

 

Heritage Museum of Muong's Ethnic Culture is located at 28, Thai Binh Ward in Hoa Binh City (Hoa Binh Province). Currently, the museum has about 5,000 units of various artifacts, 3,000 artifacts exhibited in 6 houses of stilt in the campus. The main content of the galleries is introducing heritages of Muong culture in particular and heritages in Vietnam in general. Main exhibitions at the museum include Hoa Binh Culture, Muong antiques, Muong ethnic tradition, thematic galleries of the Muong ethic, exhibitions of Muong gongs, gallery of traditional customs of Muong ethnic people, gallery of introducing historical and present patriots, a library with about 5,000 books, five houses of stilt, and one library where there are artifacts of Muong's ethnic... In particular, in the museum, there is a gallery of Muong gongs with 100 units, including the most ancient Muong gong having the diameter of 70cm, at the same time, there are thousands of artifacts of Lang Muong.

 

Exhibitions in Muong Cultural Heritage Museum

 

Apart from in situ exhibitions, the museum has some exchange activities to promote Hoa Binh culture. At present,the owner of the museum is trying to prepare contents for programs of Hoa Binh's artisans to join and perform some traditional historical events of Muong ethnic people. These activities will be organized by SEAMEO in Bangkok (Thailand) from May 10-15, 2015. At the opening ceremony of the Muong Cultural Heritage Museum, Vice Chairman of Hoa Binh People's Committee recognized, praised, and highly appreciated the effort and attempt of the museum in collection and research to have such a great scale like today. He pointed out that in the time coming, the museum needs to implement well contents in the operation decision issued by the provincial People's Committee. At the same time, in the museum, there are more promotions and promulgations to introduce Hoa Binh and people to both domestic and foreign tourists. There are many solutions to upgrade the quality of activities, to appeal investment to expand the museum effectively. During operation, the museum needs consideration and support of agencies and relevant branches, as well as the public.  

 

Inner Heritage Museum of Muong

 

In the time coming, Museum of Muong Cultural Heritage will improve and complete the works of exhibitions and operation of the official site of the museum, contributing to the protection and reservation of Vietnam culture in general and Muong culture in particular. Muong people for thousands of years of existence and development have created a brilliant traditional culture with a rich treasure of folk art culture which is massive in quantity, diverse in type, implicit in content and high value in art. Generations of Muong have been conserving, promoting and developing for a long time. Cultural heritage is the crystallization of tangible and intangible cultural values - the national soul. Therefore, preserving, upgrading cultural values, and promoting traditional cultural values. It has a great significance to next generations. It can be said that if losing cultural heritage, national cultural identity will be faded. Therefore, restoration, preservation and exploration ethnic cultural heritage become an important concern of the country.
