Inaugurated in November 1997, Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is the place preserving and exhibiting artifacts and documents describing cultural customs and habits in lives of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. The museum is located on a 3-hectare site on Nguyen Van Huyen Street, out of the city center. The museum currently exhibits 10,000 artifacts, 15,000 images and especially many models of traditional ancient houses in regions in Vietnam.
