Recently, the world's largest tourism website TripAdvisor has issued Travelers' Choice Attraction Awards in different categories basing on millions feedbacks of travelers from all over the world. The awards were determined basing on the quality of these destinations and the feedbacks of worldwide travelers in the official website of TripAdvisor in different items involving museums, hotels, resorts, destinations, and so forth.
In the category of museum, 3 museums in Vietnam are listed in top 25 the most attractive museums in Asia. Accordingly, Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, Vietnamese Women’s Museum, and War Remnants Museum are respectively ranked the fourth, the sixth, and the eleventh position in the list. This is the second time in this year these museums listed in a list of the finest Asia museums. Occupying the first position in the list is Terracotta Army Museum (Xi'an Province, China). The second and the third position respectively belong to Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (Cambodia) where displays evidence of the genocide of the Khmer Rouge and Peace Memorial Museum Genbaku Dome (Hiroshima, Japan). The vote was conducted basing on the feedbacks of tourists in the website. According to criteria of TripAdvisor, each of 25 museums must reach at least 4 out of 5 stars.
In 2013, in the rankings of TridAdvisor, Vietnam Museum of Ethnology was at the sixth position. In this year, with more than 900 excellent votes, the museum rose by two levels. Many travelers commented that this was a not-to-be-missed attraction when visiting Hanoi. Coming to Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, travelers will have an overview about unique and diverse cultural features of 54 ethnic minority groups of the country.
In 2012, it was the first time Vietnamese Women’s Museum being selected in a list of 80 most impressive attractions in Hanoi voted by TripAdvisor. In 2013, the museum continued to hold this title and occupied the 11th position in top 25 most attractive Asia museums. In this year, the museum is ranked number 6. Visiting Vietnamese Women’s Museum, travelers can see thousands of artifacts, images about Vietnam women in rituals, marriage customs, and family life. The museum has been made continuous efforts to become a reliable tourism attraction for both local and foreign tourists.
War Remnants Museum is located in District 3 of Ho Chi Minh City. The museum has exhibited many images and artifacts in Vietnam War with diverse subjects. This is one of Vietnamese museums which have attracted a large number of travelers. Besides, the museum also often organizes many meaningful and diverse activities to attract tourists. In 2014, War Remnants Museum is ranked at 11th position.
