Vietnam tourism boosting promotion in Russia

From June 24th to July 2nd 2014, “Vietnamese Culture Days in Russia” is held in Moscow, St Petersburg and Yaroslavl by Vietnam Department of International Cooperation to promote Vietnam tourism to Russian tourists.

The aim of this event is to introduce and promote cultural beauty of Vietnam to Russian tourists in particular and international tourist in general, simultaneously, to boost cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism between Vietnam and Russian Federation.

The opening ceremony of “Vietnamese Culture Days in Russia” took place at 7pm on June 25th 2014 at the house of Union in Moscow with the participation of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, the Minister of Culture of Russian Federation, and other senior officers. At the opening ceremony, Vietnamese delegation has brought performances of unique traditional music, performing typical techniques of Vietnamese martial Vovinam and introducing traditional costumes of Vietnamese ethnic groups.

In the framework of the event, a large number of diverse activities related to culture and tourism are held. Outstanding programs are, namely, exhibition of Vietnam traditional lacquer at the National Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow with artifacts about natural beauty and people in Vietnam; and a program named “Vietnamese film days” introducing excellent movies of Vietnam to Russian public. In addition, Representatives participating in this exchanging-culture program have the opportunity to share their opinions in bilateral cooperation in the fields of literature, translation and promotion of Russian literature in Vietnam and Vietnamese literature in Russia.

Especially, on June 26th, at Universe Hotel in Moscow, Vietnam Department of Tourism has held a roadshow introducing and promoting potential of Vietnam tourism to Russian travel companies, the press and the public. In 2013, Vietnam has welcomed 298,126 tourists from Russia, increasing 171.1 % compared to that of 2012. The roadshow is an opportunity for Vietnam to boost tourism promotion to attract more and more Russian tourists to visit Vietnam, striving to achieve the goal of 400,000 Russian tourists in 2014.

In recent years, the cooperating relation between Vietnam and Russia has been continuously strengthened. Two countries regularly organize activities of cultural exchange as well as cooperation programs of training human resource in the fields of culture, art and tourism. All activities are sponsored by the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Vietnam and the Department of Culture of Russian Federation.  In particular, “Vietnamese Cultural Days in Russia” as well as “Russian Cultural Days in Vietnam” are appreciated as major and important events which contribute to strengthen the good relation between two countries and people, simultaneously, to enhance cooperation in term of culture and tourism between Vietnam and Russia.
